All DB2 and DB2/4 cars are fitted with the six cylinder engine, 2.6 litres on DB2 and early DB2/4 Mark I cars and 3 litre versions on later Mark I and Mark II.
The various series of engines are identified by the group of letters preceding the engine number.
The engine number can be found stamped into the front timing cover near to the dynamo mounting bracket.
The series identification is given below, together with the model type in which each will be found:

On early LB6B (2.6 litre) engines the connecting rod big end bearings are white metalled direct.
From engine number LB6B/571 and VB6B/1034 onwards and all 3 litre power units, big end bearings are of the "thin wall shell" type in lead bronze, steel backed. All small end bearings are bush type of phosphor bronze.

you will require:
