All DB2/4 MkIII cars are fitted with the 3.0 litres six cylinder engine, which came in four variations.
The various series of engines are identified by the group of letters preceding the engine number and this is usually found on the timing case near to the dynamo bracket.
The series identification is given below, together with the carburettor variations and output which were found in each series:

All 3 litre power units, big end bearings are of the "thin wall shell" type in lead bronze, steel backed. All small end bearings are bush type of phosphor bronze.
